Downloaded Fedora 18 x64 DVD. Boots from usb successfully. Anaconda takes forever! It has been three hours and I am only on package 819/1189.

My computer is a new i7-3612QM; 8GB RAM; 1TB free disk space. Ubuntu and openSUSE install in less than 20minutes.

Am I doing something wrong?

--Update-- This is crazy! 5 hours later and it's still busy doing post-install setup tasks.

That is the reason I always (now) use the Live cd install. It is clean, doesn't take long. Just have to select additional packages after the install. DVD istalls a lot of stuff alone. If you select other items, that is even more time. And if you have a slow ISP Service or at least one that cuts your speed after a certain amount of data, then it could be a very log time. I just hope all went well and you are now enjoying Fedora.
