Help! I've been trying to download the fedora 16 dvd iso, I am using the link provided by fedoraproject.org. The download starts but at a certain point hangs and will not continue. I am trying to download the 64 bit version and the file is 3.5GB.

The download is very slow even though I have a fast cable connection, and it keeps hanging. I've tried this download more the 5 times now and don't know what else to do!

Please help!

I always recommend you download via bittorrent, very fast!

if you use windows would use utorrent or you use other distribution try Transmission

Sometimes this happens, try another mirror

Select a fast mirror geographically close to you.

I guess you're just hitting a bad mirror like @bodhi.zazen said.

Hi I am a Fedora Fan.

Yet would like to point out certain issues we face while installing Fedora.

Live Boot do not have an Office Suite and hence is too bad - except browsing nothing could be properly done without spending time on customising. If we consider Ubuntu or Linux Mint - their live image contains maximum needed applications.

DVD - the issue is not downloading Fedora DVD but installing it in an customised manner. It is really difficult to choose applications for a normal or average users --- It took me 6 Months to master it.

Another biggest issue is you need network connection to install and the installation takes about 3 to 5 hrs. It is very boring to install from DVD.

Yours VN A strong endorser for Fedora
