IMHO the notifications in GNOME (3) are hidden very quickly. Of course, it depends on the user, how fast he/she can read that notifications or so. So is there any way to change how long the notifications are displayed before they are hidden?

Quickly searching through dconf I could not find any setting for this.

Not an allowed feature as of yet. Looked on google, duckduckgo and other search engines. found numerous references to various tweek tools for gnome, but none have shown how to alter notification timeout. I do not believe that feature exists at this time. Dug around in my gnome desktop, and saw absolutely nothing that allows it.

Seems we need a bugzilla ticket…

As for now the answer seems to be: There is a ticket for this.

It does not seem possible yet, as @steveebey73742 found out.

Last week I found that notification clients can't assign the notification timeout at all. Gnome always use constant 5 seconds.

@nohk Actually, that's not true. As I was told in the linked ticket, there is an algorithm deciding when to hide the notification. E.g. when you don't move the mouse it does not hide at all. If you move it up, it also stays there a bit longer.
