How to recover GRUB bootloader?

GRUB bootloader vanished after Windows 10 on my dual boot PC automatically updated. Now my PC directly boots into Windows 10 without showing GRUB boot menu. Is there any way to fix this problem? (P.S.: I have already checked my hard drive using Hard Drive analyzing softwares and found that Linux partition still exists on the drive.)

Command worked for me. Thanks a lot. You saved me a lot of trouble going through the live usb process. Thanks again.

You may use this bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\fedora\grubx64.efi on your windows command line see if it works

this worked for me. At first, only my linux os was visible, but now I could run 'os-prober' and create a new grub config that included windows.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about difficulties you experience with this. Since you are booting into Windows 10 now, I suggest that you create Live USB as described here https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/HowtocreateanduseLive USB or you can download and install Rescue USB, which is also useful http://www.system-rescue-cd.org/Downl... . After you get booted into the resuce mode type fdisk -l, and mount root partition. When you get to the old drive:

grep -P "submenu|^menuentry" /mnt/boot/grub2/grub.cfg | cut -d "'" -f2

Or go there and manually view edit file.

Windows has a tendency to overwrite the bootloader with its own. you will need to reinstall grub on the boot partition. If this is an efi boot system which it probably is given it is WIndows 10, then need to follow directions here https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GRUB_2
