how to customize wmi buttons behavior with fedora 18

How to customize wmi buttons behavior with fedora 18? I mean the special buttons on laptops activated through Fn button.

P.S. I couldn't find any info.

Most buttons seem to be handled by whe desktop environment (in my case XFCE) and I can assign function by opening shortcut configuration and hitting that key.

Some events like lid close and power button are handled by logind so behavior is consistent between DEs and non-guy installations.

And finally some buttons plain don't work, perhaps unrecognized by current driver. This lwn article could shed some light perhaps.
