I have installed Fedora on a PC successfully. I then tried to set the graphics resolution to match my display, and now the X Window does not appear. I get a message on the monitor that I have an incorrect resolution setting.

How do I go back to the original default setting? I am an inexperienced user of Fedora.

from grub menu, hit E to edit the grub entry, put nomodeset on linux cmdline, in front of the word quiet, and press Ctrl-x to force a low resolution mode, then once logged in, try to set the resolution. when you reboot, the nomodeset will not be in grub, and you should be able to boot to your set resolution.
