Option 1:

you can use Vinagre is installed by default in fedora 17 :

Vinagre is a remote desktop viewer application for the GNOME desktop which uses Virtual Network Computing (VNC), and other protocols, to remotely control another computer.

Option 2:

you can use PAC Manager

PAC is a Perl/GTK replacement for SecureCRT/Putty/etc (linux ssh/telnet/... gui)... It provides a GUI to configure connections: users, passwords, EXPECT regular expressions, macros, etc.

Option 3:

Remmina is a remote desktop client written in GTK+, aiming to be useful for system administrators and travellers, who need to work with lots of remote computers in front of either large monitors or tiny netbooks. Remmina supports multiple network protocols in an integrated and consistent user interface. Currently RDP, VNC, NX, XDMCP and SSH are supported.

Remmina is released in separated source packages:

    sudo yum install remmina remmina-plugins-common remmina-plugins-gnome remmina-plugins-rdp remmina-plugins-vnc

I use rdesktop and have never had a problem with it. It will give you a similar UI to what you may have seen when doing Windows->Windows remoting.

sudo yum install rdesktop

Two ways:

  1. www.teamviewer.com
  2. VNC - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VirtualNetworkComputing

Both free and platform independant.
