For a couple of days now I can see this pending update in Software:

updatesoftwarewindow

The problem is that hinting Update or Update All, doesn't do anything. I tried sudo dnf upgrade but the message still appears.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks to @ozesty, I could do the upgrade from command line, however I get errors, either:

$ sudo fwupdmgr update Downloading
RQR24.05_B0029 for Unifying
Receiver... Updating RQR24.05_B0029 on
Unifying Receiver... request timed out

or

$ sudo fwupdmgr update
Downloading RQR24.05_B0029 for Unifying Receiver...
Updating RQR24.05_B0029 on Unifying Receiver...
not found /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb3/3-4

To update firmware through terminal, instead of DNF, you have to use

fwupdmgr

@ozeszty, thanks for the pointer, when I do $ sudo fwupdmgr update I get a timeout Downloading RQR24.05_B0029 for Unifying Receiver... Updating RQR24.05_B0029 on Unifying Receiver... request timed out

Were your keyboard and mouse turned off during the update?

You can use undermentioned command to install newer fwupd (today I successfully updated my receiver with it) with fix for issue you mentioned, but probably your receiver is already up to date anyway.

dnf update fwupd --enablerepo=updates-testing

I still get an error Downloading RQR24.05_B0029 for Unifying Receiver... Updating RQR24.05_B0029 on Unifying Receiver... Decompressing… request timed out . However there is progress because now the mouse has to be repaired (by on/off). Thanks anyway.

It's written there, unplug the device before updating.

That doesn't help, besides it says "Device cannot be used during update" (not "Update cannot used with device")
