Hi All,

Is there a way to create software raid 1 after the fact? Meaning, you already installed FC26 on a stand alone drive.

I would say that there is a way but it is a hard road to travel. You would first neet to partition the other drive appropriately, create a suitable set of mdraid 1 disks with a missing disk, copy your system onto that disk, wiggle the installation a bit to get it to boot and so on. It would be much easier to backup what you need and reinstall your system.

I am currently on RSTe RAID 1 so both hard drives are identical. It transpires that my issues are with hot swapping a separate backup hard drive in a sata port, which I get away everywhere else, but not here. here it knocks my raid pair out of sync when I have to throw the power switch to reboot. Tears. Thank you for the help!
