When I run git lfs install (or git lfs anything) in my Fedora, I get the following error:

git: 'lfs' is not a git command. See 'git --help'.

Did you mean this?

I just installed git for Windows on my friend's compute and git lfs worked without a problem. A bit weird that Git on Windows works better than on its native OS.

I tried dnf search lfs but got no useful results.

How can I make git lfs work? git --version is 2.9.5, so more than recent enough for git lfs.

Git lfs is not part of git therefore it is no included on git and on Fedora, to install it on Fedora look here

Good luck.

My bad, I thought it was integrated in other distros such as Ubuntu, but apparently this is not the case either.

The latest version of git-lfs requires a newer version of Go than is provided on Fedora 25. However, if you are okay with the previous release 2.0.2, you can find it in my copr here.

There are builds going into testing for Fedora 26 and Fedora 27 soon, so the latest version will be available on those releases in a week or two.

Now stable in Fedora 26; F27 coming as soon as the Beta Freeze is lifted.
