Welcome to ask.fedora! While it's possible to shift to a text console, log in as root, create a new username without the offending character, give it a password and add it to the group wheel to give it (some) admin rights, it's a daunting task, especially for a newcomer. My suggestion is simply to reinstall Fedora, making sure to reformat /home (if it's on a separate partition) and create an account with a username that doesn't have any problematic characters. (For a start, you're probably safe with letters and numbers, but remember that like almost anything in Linux, your username and password are both case sensitive.) Good luck with this, and feel free to ask any more questions you have.

Correction! I thought it was your username, not your password; I must have misread. In that case, use Ctrl-Alt-F2 to get to a text console and log in as root. (You created a root password as part of the installation.) Then, use password $USERNAME using your regular user's name, of course, and give yourself a new password. Log out, log in again with your regular username and new password to make sure. Log out, use Ctrl-Alt-F1 to go back to the login screen and it should work.

Yeah, I know, but I wanted to leave it as is, just in case it was useful for somebody else.

Make a second answer, perhaps?
