Hello,

After I upgraded from Fedora Workstation 26 to 27, my Filezilla will not open.

I have attempted to manually upgrade it, using the terminal, uninstall and re-install it again using different methods, and so far, the result is the very same. It does not open no matter how many times I click on the icon, or use the terminal to boot it.

Any solution?

Regards,

Alex de Borba

Hi alex de borda I have same problem too , i remove and reinstall filezilla but my problem was not solved, after that i did below instruction and my problem solved . I think you can do this and i hope your problem will be solve.

Type in filezilla in a terminal and press enter, and see what happens. Maybe it gives you an error message.

Edit: I just tried it, and the current version of filzilla in Fedora seems to be broken, but you can get the next update, that works, with

sudo dnf update filezilla --enablepro \*testing

or

sudo dnf install filezilla --enablerepo \*testing

if filezilla is not installed yet.

You are right. I installed FileZilla and started in from the command line. The error message is:

filezilla: symbol lookup error: filezilla: undefined symbol: _ZN2fz6threadC2Ev

There is a ticket open here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug....

It seems that an update of filezilla should be available soon.

I had similar problem but used flatpak instead.

sudo dnf install flatpak

then

flatpak install --from https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/or...
