Hi all,

With Fedora 25, I used to temporarily change environment using env like this:

$ env LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 gedit

With this, I was able to launch gedit in italian in my GNOME LANG=en_DK.UTF-8 localized session. But in Fedora 27, this does not work anymore. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Use localectl list-locales | grep it_IT and check whether it_IT.utf8 is present. What if you use env LANG=it_IT.utf8 gedit?

I've already done what you suggest and this is really working well on Fedora 25 but not on Fedora 27! So I can't get gedit in other localization than the default one. It seems that env command is ineffective.

I'd really want a few of us can test the env command before reporting a bug. Does anyone can reproduce this problem or am I the only one with this?

That's weird. (Can't test on F27 right now, sorry, maybe later).

Output of echo $PATH, ls -lL /usr/bin/env and env --version?
