Until recently I was using Fedora 26 with kernel 4.13.16-202.fc26.x86_64 without problems. But the last two kernel upgrades (4.14.4-200.fc26.x86_64 and 4.14.5-200.fc26.x86_64) are giving me kernel panic. This is the only thing I was able to get before the screen froze:

One thing to make sure to remain bootable is to keep more kernels on your systems. If you are running with default settings, your system will keep three kernels. So, when you update to 4.14.6 now or later when 4.14.7 hits the updates repository in a couple of days, your working 4.13.16 will be removed.

Open /etc/dnf/dnf.conf and add a line to keep more kernels on the system.

installonly_limit=5

(or set the 5 to whatever number of kernels you want to keep. though make sure your /boot does not fully fill up.)

Moreover, file a bug against the kernel package

@florian: Yes, I've done that (changed from 3 to 10). But then I thought that, since I got two kernel with panics in 3, even 10 kernels would not be safe (I will forget!). So I disabled kernel updates until I understand what's happening.

@florian: No idea is that bug is related to mine. All I know is the few panic lines I posted.
