Macbook touchpad becomes unresponsive

I have Fedora 27 freshly installed on a Macbook Pro from 2012. When I am using the touchpad, the cursor will suddenly stop moving and become unresponsive, until I lift my finger up and then put it back down and continue. This happens every minute or 2, at least, and doesn't seem to have any pattern to it. The touchpad just becomes completely unresponsive until I take my finger off and put it back down. Very strange. As far as I can tell, this issue was not present on the LiveCD - I noticed it after installing Fedora 27 and applying all updates available. Restarting the laptop and even reinstalling Fedora does not do anything to help. Oh - and the issue is present on both Wayland and Xorg. I'm considering upgrading early to F28, to see if that fixes the issue, but would much rather stay on 27 until 28 is officially released.

Did you try to re-install the said software?

I'm not sure which software you mean - I tried reinstalling Fedora itself, but nothing else. ozeszty's answer/comment seems to have fixed the issue though. Thanks.
