Hello...

I was using GMT on windows and linux mint platforms perfectly and I got impressed with it. Now I have switched to Fedora 28 and I want to continue with GMT. I am following the installation instructions given on web page.

sudo yum install GMT gshhg-gmt-nc4-all dcw-gmt

But the above command line provides an error as below:

No match for argument: gshhg-gmt-nc4-all
Error: Unable to find a match

I have seen on GMT forum and they suggested to use other rpm link instead of official:
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=GMT&srodzaj=3
https://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=GMT
https://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=gshhg-gmt-nc4

As I am new to Fedora, can anyone help me to install GMT on Fedora.

Thank you

dnf search gmt returned the following:

 ============================== Name Matched: gmt ===============================
GMT.i686 : Generic Mapping Tools
GMT.x86_64 : Generic Mapping Tools
ogmtools.x86_64 : Tools for Ogg media streams
drupal7-tmgmt.noarch : Translation Management Tool
gshhg-gmt-nc4.noarch : Global Self-consistent Hierarchical High-resolution
                     : Geography (GSHHG)
libstoragemgmt.i686 : Storage array management library
libstoragemgmt.x86_64 : Storage array management library
gshhg-gmt-nc4-full.noarch : GSHHG - full resolution
gshhg-gmt-nc4-high.noarch : GSHHG - high resolution
jboss-j2eemgmt-1.1-api.noarch : Java EE Management 1.1 API

sudo dnf install gshhg-gmt-* will probably install all of what you need.

Hi... thank you for your reply. this works for me and I installed the gshhg packages. But now it is not linked with GMT. Whenever I am using pscoast to use the continental boundaries. It provides an error as below.

pscoast: Could not find file [GSHHG full resolution shorelines]
pscoast: Could not find file [GSHHG full resolution political boundaries]
pscoast: No GSHHG databases available - must abort

can you help me to resolve this? Thank you

I have no idea how the program works, I just found the files in the fedora repository so you could install them.
