Recent versions of Fedora feel not very stable. Today my touchpad suddenly stops working. System settings:

Fedora 28 kernel 4.18.8-200.fc28.x86_64 Wayland + libinput 1.11.3

It took me few hours googlng for debug. The discussion here provides some command for debugging. Things seem fine except no events from the touchpad is captured. It looks more like Wayland problem.

The patch(es) that fix the touchpad problems should be land in the Fedora kernel very soon: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug....

I assume you are affected by the bug reported here(and here).

Is your touchpad not working at all, or just the right-click and gestures?

Update to kernel-4.18.11 and try again (sudo dnf --refresh --enablerepo=updates-testing update kernel*)

This didn't work for me. Still no response from touchpad. I am on Thinkpad P52.

Fedora kernel maintainer could have picked up the patch mentioned here for the Fedora kernel. Hopefully it will be merged into 4.18. soon. (It's in 4.19 rc already).

Simply close the lid, goes to suspended then open the lid again will activate the touchpad. I try this when someone here mentioned touchpad problem after the laptop goes suspended.

This may indicate a serious bug though.

Worth a try but that bug doesn't seem to be related to a T480s (vs T440 with 'SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad').
