I've just upgraded to F29, I have 24 logical cores E5-2620,

gnome-shell can go up to 800% on that and it starts stuttering after a while. This happens usually with graphics.

So basically gnome-shell from eating my 64GB ram within 10 minutes went to eating my CPU in 5. Good job gnome and fedora !

Fedora 29 is in beta stage, so it's a bit too early to judge. Just report the bug and devs will address it!

@JayDoubleu Hi, Fedora 29 is still in development FedoraReleaseLife_Cycle is still not final). If you find a problem, you should report a bug.

So we are getting close to the release and this is still the case. Super high CPU usage on gnome shell. I'm just writing it here cause last time I was complaining everywhere about the memory leak bug in gnome-shell and Fedora guys still decided not to implement fixes but just released buggy version. It seems that community for Fedora is like their guinea pigs and zero * given to the user experience. They just seem to care about testing release for future red-hat where they can make money. If this is still the case for final release I'm definitely moving away from fedora. I want to have usable

It shouldn't make a difference to you. You don't have to upgrade to Fedora 29, just stick with Fedora 28 until Fedora 29 has no more bugs that are affecting you.

Could you please point to a bug report?

It really shouldn't make a difference - either you wait for a fix (while F29 release gets postponed) or it gets released and you wait with you upgrade. Same same.

If you take a look here it doesn't seem that the bug you are mentioning is blocking release.
