Connection on Wi fi gone slow

Hello everybody, I'm running fedora 28 freshly installed yesterday. The problem is that on windows I was getting a stable 150mbps in download (the actual limit of my wifi card) since I have a 500mbps connection, but now that I'm running Fedora the speed dropped to 35mbps.

On all other computers with windows is fine, so I guess it's something wrong with Fedora. Maybe the drivers? Maybe a speed limitation coming from somewhee ove the rainbow? I don't know but I hope you can help me find out.

Cheers!

How do you measure your connection speed, with speedtest.net ? How do you connect, with NetworkManager?

The speed has been measured with speed test from ookla and also on a simple download from steam (no limits download setup).

Sorry what do you mean with "How do you conect, with NetworkManager?"

How do you activate wifi? What do you use, Gnome, kde, etc? What speed do you obtain over ethernet?

I have Fedora28 Workstation Gnome desktop and I just turn on the wifi as usual, just turn on the laptop and connect to my wifi. I wanted to try with Ethernet connection but sadly I cannot actually connect with lan cable since I don't have one, I should buy but I know that the Hardware is fine and the modem too since it was working properly before installing Fedora.

Actually on my other laptop, a netbook, I didn't had this problem the speed has always been fine, but I have Fedora Mate on the netbook.

Connect as usual what? By telepathy? The computer guesses the correct wifi ssid and the password without knowledge? Or do you enter this information? In the latter case, how do you do that? If not, I want one too.

I've updated my laptop to fedora 29 and the connection now works perfectly fine. Thank you all for your help anyway.
