As a KDE person, I use Discover as an app store frontend. However, I've been having a very peculiar issue. When I try to open an RPM or flatpakref file, Discover throw a "couldn't open file://path/to/file" I did Google the problem, but nothing worked. Any ideas?

Try to update your system via dnfdragora (dnf GUI). I suppose to wait for Fedora 29, it will bring with it the latest plasma, kf5, kde-apps etc. updates. Discover will also bring new features and will be more reliable. I have the same issues: one day discover works and on another day it will not work. In the meantime install your software via dnfdragora or dnf.

I recommend not using dnfdragora. dnf is easier to use and less broken.
