Recover Gnome 3.30 Tracker database area

Gnome may be well meaning (or not) but Tracker is a space and resource hog, not to mention a privacy issue. It can be disabled and reset. After cleaning out the files there is about 200Gb of unusable space reserved. How do I recover that space as usable? I have no intention of ever letting Gnome churn through my multi-terrabyte server mount points as the default setup would like.

Please specify what you did to "clean out the files". I don't think the 200Gb have anything to do with tracker
