Ctrl key gets stuck randomly

I have a weird problem since I've received my work laptop, a Lenovo ThinkPad T470P. First thing I did is remove Windows and install Fedora 28. That's when I started having the first problems, sometimes while working the ctrl key will get pressed randomly (not by me) and will stay stuck until I press it again. This is incredibly annoying as you can imagine. The problem persisted once I updated to Fedora 29.

I searched around but couldn't find a solution to this problem, and Lenovo seem to support only Windows stuff on their website.

Has anyone got this kind of problem and found a solution?

Either you turned on "Sticky Keys" our your keyboard is faulty. Being a laptop I would guess the latter. Try an external one.

Tried another keyboard. Problem still there (previously keyboard was wireless, now I tried with a wired one). Also checked sticky keys which are not enabled.
