gnome-software and packagekitd high CPU usage on F29

I've been experiencing constant, high CPU usages both from gnome-software and packagekitd, which in turn keeps my load average around 2.0. Anyone else also experiencing this? I tried probing gnome-software with strace, and it does seem to be doing lots of things, I just don't know if they are legit or not...

Alas, I don't think you're the only one experiencing packagekitd cpu hogging. Kill the offending processes with

kill -9 PID

or

pkill -SIGKILL nameprocess

Dealing with a graphical interface for packages, better install dnfdragora and use that instead of gnome-software.

Thanks, indeed, I found some reports about the same problem (even a bug report for F28, to which I subscribed). In the meantime, I simply removed gnome-software (and PackageKit along with it). I am comfortable using command-line tools to upgrade and install packages, so I guess I will just try to live without gnome-software to see how this goes. Thanks anyway for suggesting dnfdragora, I didn't know about it, will give it a try if I feel I need a GUI for some reason.
