Can I replace rescue image?

I've had this system for a couple of years. It started out with Fedora 24. The "rescue image" was created along with the original installation of Fedora.

I just upgraded to Fedora 29. The thought of having to go back 5 versions in case of problems doesn't seem reasonable.

Is there a way to replace the F24 rescue image with a F29 version?

The rescue images will be created if they don't exist during a kernel update. As root, run

rm /boot/*rescue*
dnf reinstall kernel-core
