fedora 28 to 29 fail

Used graphic upgrade tool. Downloaded fine. I walked away and returned to a hung screen. I did a cold restart, splash screen came up showing Fedora 29 kernel and started to boot. Hangs with this error "no irq handler for vector". I attempted to boot into previous kernel and it stalls. In fact any previous kernel fails to boot. Each hangs waiting on a startup process to complete.

At this point I may need to do a fresh install just to recover my files. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have been running Fedora 28 for a while with the only problem being unable to logout without the graphics going wonky. Family has been doing "switch user" rather than logging out as a work around...Other than that 28 was working fine.

What's your graphics adapter?

To “recover” your files, boot a F28/29 Live system and copy your /home and whatnot to an external backup drive.

You've ended up with no upgrade and a ruined installation for unknown reasons, and maybe it's too late to udnerstand why and probably not worth the hassle. Your best chance is to reinstall. Save first /home and /etc in order to retain previous settings

Hi.. How about install terminal upgrade for Fedora29 System?

# dnf upgrade --refresh
# dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade
# dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=29 --allowerasing

Some reason, problem..skip.. incomplete installation could be...because of a various system and hardware status. first, Let's predict the situation in advance before fedora29 installation

continue.....same trouble.... It's a need to try natural installation using a CD/DVD or USB, Fedora29...Stable and Good Work
