Putting this here so if anyone has problems, it is made decently simple. Just as a pre-emptive strike for anyone experiencing problems getting their HDMI to work with audio and video!

FOR VIDEO: Go to your settings (tool icon in the drop down bar on the top right.) then go to devices and select either 'Mirror' OR "Single Display" (Mirror keeps the screen alive on both the HDMI and the main screen/monitor....."Single Display" Only keeps the selected screen active [" Built-in display" Will only use the laptop/desktop monitor. The other option, mine is VIZIO, INC 42" {Your HDMI name may vary}, will display only the device connected to your HDMI port.]

FOR AUDIO: Go to your settings (tool icon in the drop down bar on the top right.) then go to "sound" and select "HDMI" instead of "Speakers-Built-in audio" and click "Apply" and the audio should come out of your HDMI device.

Please let me know if i missed anything or if you are having problems.
