My F28 freezes randomly

aprox. from september my F28 starts freezing randomly. I strongly suspects meltdown/spectre fixes causing this issue. But I can not be sure, because it does not leave any traces, system is fully hang, I left it even for hours, no change, no keyboard/network response and there is nothing in the logs. So my first question is: - is there any "more stable" kernel which I could use ? or - is there any debugging features I can turn on, to get some info, what exactly cause it ?

Thank you,

PS: my laptop is Lenovo X1 Carbon with latest updates and I use MATE spin

I noticed major system performance issues that were ultimately network related. Seems like if Fedora cant phone home it throws a bitch fit.

Do you happen to have any dedicated GPU? Could the lack of the proper driver be causing this freezing?

Hmmm ok... A tool you can use to check problems is journalctl. It has some features and flags to help you narrow down the problems ocurring on your machine. I don't know much about it, but it returns a list of events and errors related to systemd... try it. A man journalctl wouldn't hurt, too.
