Is AskFedora done? Is Fedora 29 the end?
I am reading my, and many other posts, about Fedora 29 not installing, people getting black screens, etc... and no answers for any of them.
I've successfully installed previous versions using basic graphics mode, 'nomodeset', etc... with minimal issues and even then, the AskFedora community was great.
Now, trying to install Fedora 29 and I am getting nowhere... startx fails. Nothing seems to work.
Is there a better venue to ask for help, or maybe is Fedora done now that another organization has purchased another organization?
I
With out specifics on your issue it is complicated to help you. Be specific detail the hardware were you are installing where do you download the iso, etc. By the way I have not used startx on Fedora in years. Fedora 29 use Wayland by default so X server may not be installed.
Especially the information about which Nvidea driver you have installed is missing.
There is no OS that is completely free of bugs or other problems see https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~s... and post information we can use to help you, hardware, error messages, did you checksum the iso?
i also wondering. Waiting for 2 days that someone can help me....bc i too, cant install fedora 29 (KDE). See my thread with additional Information
Please try a Fedora Spin with a different desktop: See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/29/Spins
