Hello. I have been working on a python script that requires voice recognition. This was giving me ALSA errors. So after some google-fu, I found a page that said it could be Pulse Audio, and recommended dnf remove alsa-plugins-pulseaudio. This didn’t solve it, so I reinstalled it. Now sound isn’t working as it was. amixer no longer recognizes a master (only IEC958) and refuses to adjust IEC958, aplay -l Shows 4 hdmi outputs before my sound card, and speaker-test doesn’t do anything. I’ve had to replace my amixer commands with pactl, which works fine, but ignores a max threshold (causing me to almost blow out my headphones).

I understand that the sound works, but it certainly isn’t working the same, and I don’t like when something that works breaks.
