Hi!

I wanted to install FreeIPA on my local network. Unfortunately it does require working IPv6 (for SAMBA). I must have disabled IPv6 in the past somewhere and now I have hard time enabling it again. While other fedora workstations are getting ipv6 properly assigned, my fedora server is not cooperative.

I am using bridge between vnet and eth:

DEVICE=br0
TYPE=Bridge
IPADDR=10.0.2.11
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none
ZONE=FedoraServer
STP=no
PROXY_METHOD=none
BROWSER_ONLY=no
PREFIX=24
GATEWAY=10.0.2.1
DEFROUTE=yes
IPV4_FAILURE_FATAL=no
IPV6INIT=yes
NAME="Bridge br0"
DNS1=10.0.2.1
DHCPV6C=yes
IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6_AUTOCONF=yes
IPV6_DEFROUTE=yes
IPV6_FAILURE_FATAL=no
IPV6_PRIVACY=no
IPV6_ADDR_GEN_MODE=stable-privacy
ONBOOT=yes

tried adding disable=0 to /etc/sysctl.conf but no luck:

sysctl: cannot stat /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/disable_ipv6: No such file or directory
sysctl: cannot stat /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/default/disable_ipv6: No such file or directory
sysctl: cannot stat /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/lo/disable_ipv6: No such file or directory

Neither loopback nor bridge is getting IPv6. While other devices with same settings are working just fine. Is there any other place that could enable IPv6 ?

 ping6 google.com
ping: socket: Address family not supported by protocol

So I've realized that I had "ipv6.disable=0" inside /etc/default/grub I've removed it and recreated config:

sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

It all works as expected now
