Setup: Fedora 29 Server on a new RPi 3 B+ using the internal RPi wifi (provided by its onboard BCM43438 chip)

Has ANYONE gotten the 5ghz wifi band to work using Fedora+hostapd on the RPi 3B+ ? If so, can you post your hostapd.conf and details of any special driver setup?

For me, all's fine using the 2.4ghz band (802.11n + hostapd.conf hw_mode=g). But as soon as I switch to hw_mode=a (-> 5Ghz), with no other changes, the hostapd daemon dies immediately upon loading with "Could not set channel for kernel driver"-type errors. (Yes, I've tried every ht_capab setting possible, plus none at all - just the defaults - and nothing alters the driver woofing its cookies a few seconds after loading).

I'm left assuming that while 5GHZ works on the RPi 3 B+ in Raspbian and other OSes, it's not yet supported in Fedora (at least as of F29). Any info supporting that conclusion - or details of your setup that refute it - are welcomed.
