Hello. I'm using fedora 29. And I've tried many ways to install vlc nightly on fedora 29.When I try to build it from the tar package i get errors ( I've installed the necessary packages by running the command sudo dnf build-dep vlc ) , the snap package doesn't run either.

I've just tried and the snap actually works. Here are the steps I've followed:

sudo dnf install snapd
sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap

Then:

snap info vlc

that shows:

name: vlc
summary: The ultimate media player
publisher: VideoLAN✓
contact: https://www.videolan.org/support/

...

channels:
  stable: 3.0.6 2019-01-10 (770) 212MB -
  candidate: 3.0.6 2019-01-10 (770) 212MB -
  beta: 3.0.6-83-g9ee7cfa 2019-03-14 (884) 212MB -
  edge: 4.0.0-dev-6950-g02d494255c 2019-03-14 (883) 336MB -

So you need to choose the edge channel:

sudo snap install --channel=edge vlc

and then you can launch the binary:

/snap/bin/vlc
