Hello,

I have done clean installation of Fedora 18 GNOME on my desktop. I tried to find "Add/Remove Software " Package. But i am not able to find it. Instead, i only have "Software" package under System.

I am very much new to Fedora and I dont know more about installing new software on Fedora. I google many times and have found that Fedora has "Add/Remove Software" package which is very much similar like Ubuntu Software Center.

Is there any way we can do this. I tried to update using su -c 'yum update' on terminal. But every time i am getting "Yum Lock".

Kindly help me.

It would be really handy if I can get "Add/Remove Software" package, so that i can install software, otherwise i need to do tedious job using terminal. :(

The "software" application is the GUI application that you use to install software on Fedora. It's the same as "Add/remove software".

If the "yum lock" is held, it implies yum is already running. The "software" application runs in the background and looks for updates to your system. Wait for about 5-10 minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection, and you should be able to use either yum or "software" to install/remove stuff.
