Edit:

KDE or any other popular desktop environment should not affect driver installation proces.

I've seen and attempted to use many guides on how to install the driver on Fedora 18, but none seem to work. I'm sick of my laptop's fan spinning perpetually.

I've also tried using the installer AMD provides on their website, but when I run it it doesn't recognize my kernel headers, which are installed (3.8.5.201).

Is there any way I could get this driver up and running?

Installing the package you listed for me did the trick. Thanks!
