Hi.

I installed a virtual host with its IDE disk over an external hard disk, at the moment i try to start the virtual machine i got a message about permission:

qemu-kvm: -drive file=/run/media/juanpa/TOSHIBA/virtualMachines/Centos64b.img,if=none,id=drive-ide0-0-0,format=raw: could not open disk image /run/media/juanpa/TOSHIBA/virtualMachines/Centos64b.img: Permission denied

So, i tried to change the permissión with chmod and, the owner but it not works, the permission and owner stay.

So, when i made an ll over the mount point of the device:

ll /run/media/
total 0
drwxr-x---+ 3 juanpa juanpa 60 abr 11 17:57 juanpa

I think the '+' flag influence in the change permissión, can you tell me about that?

Thanks

"+" sing means your file has extended permissions called ACLs. You may try setting the acl on the disk.

getfacl directory

mount -o remount acl directory

setfacl -m u:username:rwx directory
