connecting android phone to F17

Hi, Can I transfer music and video files from my F17 xfce 32 bit laptop to LG L9 P765 mobile using usb cable? I tried but intialy it shows that it is scanning in mobile screen but after a moment the LG icon dissapears in the desktop in the laptop. And nothing happens afte that, I can only charge using this OS....

Yes, that can be done. I did it recently with a new Samsung Galaxy S3 using Fedora 16. Here's how:

  1. Install DavDrive Lite on the droid
  2. Open DavDrive Lite
  3. Push the button in the middle of the screen to start DavDrive Lite
  4. Open your file navigator in Linux (I used Dolphin)
  5. Connect to webdav://user@10.1.1.1:8888/
  6. In Dolphin, you can save that connection in the Network folder

Change 10.1.1.1 in step 5 to the IP address on the DavDrive Lite screen.

Recent versions of android appear to have dropped the USB mass storage support in favor of MTP which unfortunately isn't supported very well yet on Linux.

I'm using dropbox as an intermediate now.
