[jd@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa | grep -i virtualbox
VirtualBox-kmodsrc-4.2.12-1.fc18.x86_64
kmod-VirtualBox-3.9.6-200.fc18.x86_64-4.2.12-1.fc18.2.x86_64
VirtualBox-guest-4.2.12-1.fc18.x86_64
akmod-VirtualBox-4.2.12-1.fc18.2.x86_64

I can't start the client even under root? I tried to install the other Virtualbox package on rpmfusion but no luck:

    sudo yum install VirtualBox.x86_64
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit, remove-with-leaves, rpm-warm-cache, show-leaves

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

What should I do to get Virtualbox to work? should I upgrade the kmod-package? Thanks

VirtualBox-guest is a guest additions package - this should be installed only on the guest. I guess you are configuring a host, so start with: yum remove VirtualBox-guest&& yum install VirtualBox

Hi, VirtualBox-guest is VBoxGuestAdditions for Fedora itself , if you install VirtualBox as Host, you can't install VirtualBox-guest . VirtualBox-guest is just to install under a vm guest system . Therefore we conflict this 2 packages deliberately .

rpmfusion doesn't provide VBoxGuestAdditions for others OS , you have to download it , you have a button for that in VirtualBox, vm manager menu .
