Best tool for managing log file ?

Hi Friends,

To Monitor JBoss, Apache, Samba, WAMP , etc servers and services. I need perfect log monitoring GUI. Please help me by suggesting perfect tools. Already I am using System Log. But it is not perfect tool for monitoring the servers by log file.

I don't know about versatile tool, but as for JBoss monitoring - I'm using Chainsaw

An easy way is to search through /var/log/messages (or any other most appropriate file) with ont of the below compiled commands in a seperate terminal (accessible with [CTRL]+[ALT]+[1..6]:

cat /path/to/logfile |grep <searchterm>

Or for live logging

tail -f /path/to/logfile | grep <searchterm>

logstash.net works quite nicely, and can parse all of the logs you listed above.
