I'm trying to use fedup to upgrade to Fedora 20 (from 19), and the process fails after i reboot and select the upgrade option in Grub menu. There are some error message, but the machine quickly reboot and I can't figure out what the problem is.

  • How can I stop the process from rebooting the machine ?
  • Is there a log file I can examine ?

The fedup-0.7 in FC19 does not work with FC20.

You need to update to fedup-0.8, available in the updates-testing repo.

For more info, see the fedup entry on the FedoraProject wiki.

As of this morning, it's available in updates. Just update your system as you normally do and it should be brought in with everything else.

Thank you, I did update, but it didn't work at first, so I needed to clear some leftovers from the first fedup process in the /var/lib folder, and run the process all over again - and this time it worked.
