I have a carrier-grade system running F13 that I want upgrade to F19. The system has no video port and I connect using serial port. I connected an external DVD drive with F19 DVD and once the F19 boot prompt appears (with 'Install F19' etc options), I pressed ESC to reach boot prompt (docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/19/html/Installation_Guide/ap-admin-options.html). However, I do not get the boot prompt here. FYI, I installed F13 on the same system in this manner, where from the boot prompt I supplied the command linux test console=ttyS0,<baudrate> to continue the installation of F13 over serial port.

Does F19 support installation in that manner or I must need a video port to continue the installation?

Not sure if the new Anaconda (Fedora installer) still support serial console, but you can try to pass linux text console=ttyS0 options [1], if it does not work you can try again with VNC network install (IIRC this method is tested by QA).[2]
