Hi!

Simple question, will my system work after the updates after F20 (kernel 3.11). I have stuck to the old kernels because I am leery to upgrade. Does kernel 3.14 work with Fedora 20 and are there any important bugs that exist?

James :)

Updates, including new kernels start out in updates-testing, and don't get pushed to updates until they've been tested and found to work. If there are important bugs found, they don't get pushed so yes, it's safe to update your system, including any new kernel updates.

@sideburns - Will the update affect anything (e.g. files, GRUB custom entries, etc.)?

Part of the process of installing a new kernel is updating grub, and that's done automatically. As far as custom entries goes, there's a file that needs to be edited to make sure that they get added, but I've never needed to work with it and don't remember its name.

Also note that Fedora keeps at least 3 kernels installed, so if a new kernel doesn't work you can always select an older one from the GRUB menu.
