There are two things in here and please update the original question with what exactly you want to do?

  1. Connect Fedora machine to a windows machine to share internet.
  2. Connect Fedora machine to a windows machine to access files.

I would rather recomend using SSH server on fedora and SSH Client on Windows. This will allow you to connect to Fedora and access all its data. You only need an internet connection for connecting via SSH.

I do the same thing. It works great

SSH comes preinstalled on Fedora20. To start SSH Server on Fedora: sudo service sshd start This will start the ssh server.

Now note down your IP Address. for this command is ifconfig This will give you your fedora Ip address.

Install any SSH client in Windows. I use Fillezilla. Download Filezilla Client on Windows.

Once installed, you start Filezilla and then need to give below details: IP Address of Fedora: Username of Fedora machine: Password of Password: Port Number: 22

This will connect your windows machine to fedora machine. Make sure that both the machines are connected to internet.

If you properly share internet connection in Windows, and connect Fedora laptop to Windows one using cable, it should automatically connect to Windows and Internet.
