If I understood correctly you want to setup static IP address to your Fedora 20 server. In my case ifcfg-em1 is eth0.

$ cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-em1
TYPE=Ethernet
BOOTPROTO=static --change this if you DHCP
DEFROUTE=yes
IPV4_FAILURE_FATAL=no
IPV6INIT=yes
IPV6_AUTOCONF=yes
IPV6_DEFROUTE=yes
IPV6_FAILURE_FATAL=no
NAME=em1
UUID=27cf5c3c-4be5-417f-84b6-869c3b1ddc74
ONBOOT=no
#BRIDGE=br0
HWADDR=3C:97:0E:BE:9E:B1
PEERDNS=no
PEERROUTES=yes
IPV6_PEERDNS=yes
IPV6_PEERROUTES=yes
USERS=rajat
IPADDR=202.54.1.3 --add here your static ip address
NETMASK=255.255.255.0 --add your subnet

I have added profile for em1 - ipv4 in Settings Manager in GNOME-Settings and disabled ipv6. Is that correct?

Gaurav, its your call whether to use IPV6 or not.
