Why is everything being moderated

asked 2014-12-13 04:46:56 -0600

I'm pretty sure that a few months ago, questions and answers were not all delayed by moderation. I've now had a few instances in which I inadvertently double post (which is stopped by the moderation, but still). Is this a spam issue or what?

Thanks, it seems a poor solution, I must admit.

It seems that a better solution would be moderation based on karma. If karma below 20 then moderate everything, for example.

Agreed, @jcuenod - maybe the next version of Askbot will do that.

I had the same question, are people afraid that I successfully followed the SElinux troubleshooter directions, and recommend it?

Maybe just incredulous

What does SELinux have to do with the fact that this forum is moderated?

I believe this may be humour...

Yes, it was an attempt at humour. I give him 8 out of 10 for effort. I'll even give him an up-vote, as I've got some left. :)

The software running this forum can be set to moderate everything or nothing. Unless the people maintaining it decide otherwise, the only way we can keep this forum free of spam is to moderate everything. If you want, you can go to the askbot forum and request that they add some sort of feature to give more fine-grained moderation, but I doubt that they'd give it a very high priority.

That's really crappy. For me, this is a basic functionality of stack overflow, and the only real reason I cared about points on here. One wonders if there is some sort of conspiracy ... On the other hand, now I will feel bad whenever I force someone to moderate a seemingly frivolous comment. Thanks for doing it.

There are a large number of reasons for rejecting a comment. Being frivolous isn't one of them. And, although people can down-vote a question or an answer, they can't down-vote a comment.

No, I mean I would feel bad for wasting your time. Sorry.
