Gnome Software Not Installing Updates

I'm running Fedora 21, and whenever I get updates for the Gnome Software, I go to run like normal, and reboot and install the updates.

But apparently, when it reboots, it only gets to 14%, then jumps to finishing, reboots, then goes to the desktop...

I go to check the updates, and none of them got installed...I have no idea why they never were. So, I ran yumex, and everything's good now, but, I'd rather want to use Gnome Software, instead ofa third-party app to install updates...

Can anyone help me out?

Most likely you were hit by a couple of bugs as explained in this Fedora magazine article.

According to the same article the solution is to run (with Administrator privileges)

yum update --advisory=FEDORA-2015-0921

optionally followed by

pkcon repair

and then reboot.

Cool, thanks for the responses. I'll give @gjaneesns suggestion a try, and yes, I had installed yumex, and the offline updates still weren't working. If nothing works, I'll post back.

This one actually worked, as Gnome Software is working just like it should now! Thanks gjanssens for the answer! :)

Here is a workaround to solve that problem.

Install yumex

Open yumex and wait it show all update packages to install

Choose only the first ten update packages and Apply to start the update process

Go ahead until install all update packages

Reading the question it seems to me that @rgates did use yumex already to get past this update failure. Probably that is also sufficient to get past the bug in PackageKit and getting offline updates working again, although perhaps a 'pkcon repair' may still be needed afterwards.
