I have upgraded recently to 18. Now when I want to watch a movie in Totem, it says it doesn't have codecs H.264 and AC-3. mplayer works fine and displays movies. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

First You need to enable RPM fusion repositories. This can be done by

su -c 'yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-branched.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-branched.noarch.rpm'

If fedora 18 installed, then install ‘gstreamer1′ is required instead of gstreamer. So search & install gstreamer1 codec

sudo yum install gstreamer1-libav gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free-extras gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld gstreamer1-plugins-good-extras gstreamer1-plugins-ugly

for searching all plug-ins available :

sudo yum search gstreamer1-plugins-

Note: The new totem 3.6 uses gstreamer 1.0 & there is no gstreamer1-ffmpeg package in repository now is gstreamer1-libav.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot! However, I'm also using Fedora 18 and when I entered the first command, it ultimately tried to install the Fedora 19 versions, such as rpmfusion-free-release-19-0.4.noarch and rpmfusion-nonfree-release-19-0.4.noarch. But when I replaced "branched" with "18" in the URLs in that command, it found the right ones for Fedora 18.
