My attempts at logging in with an account I created in 2012 here:

  1. select "Fedora", get redirected to mysterious id.fedoraproject.org , confirm I have no saved password for it, report bug, go back;
  2. select "Google", get bounced because the email address is already used;
  3. figure out what could be my fedora credentials, find confirmation email for 2012 account creation on admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts/, find saved password, type in, get redirected back, get asked email and screen name, get bounced because email address is used;
  4. try Wordpress, end up nowhere;
  5. try openid.stackexchange.com , get bounced because email is used;
  6. can't try claimid because it died, no point in trying Yahoo because that's a different address;
  7. give up, select a random provide among those above and enter a different email address and screen name.

REALLY?

It would be nice to be told "This email address was already used with provider X" or "This email address was already used, but doesn't matter anyway because you'll never be able to login again, just choose a new username!".

Try clearing your browser cache? If you've logged in with a set of credentials before, it should use that account.

Also, Ask Fedora application is run through Epiphany. Could try that if the browser cache is indeed the culprit.

Browser cache for a three years old login?

I guess that try failed, then.

For now the only option is patience. Try all the login options: one of them must be correct and when you find it, it will log you in. There is no option to delete the redundant account, by the way.

Source: I finally managed to login in my earlier account, to my surprise, when I tried to connect my Yahoo! identity to this new account. Instead of connecting, it automatically logged me out and logged in into the old one. Oh well, mystery solved for me; but this is really frustrating.

I am going through an identical stream of events. Same solution. I do not like Yahoo! much though.

OK. Go here. The provision is there for password recovery.

I recovered the username from my archives and reset email, I managed to pass the id.fedoraproject.org step (there was no indication credentials would be the same). However, when I'm sent back here I'm not logged in, I get another signup screen and the email is rejected because it's already in use by another account.

Try going to Symantec OpenID and creating an account with them. That's what I did when the old form of Google+ authentication went away, and it worked (once things were set up properly here) to get me back in.

I already used an OpenID login. I want to recover my original account.
