I would like to add my local dns server to wired connection. Keep DHCP automatic but specify favorite dns server, when i add an additional DNS server the save button is disabled. Via $user > System settins > Network > Wired > Options. If there is a terminal way, that is fine.

user > System settins > Network > Wired > Options

  • ipv4 settings tab

    • only Automatic addresses (DHCP)

    DNS Server : for example google one's, (separated by comma) and save it.

Command Line

Under Linux / UNIX / BSD operating system, you need to edit the /etc/resolv.conf file and add the line:

nameserver {IP-OF-THE-DNS-1}
nameserver {IP-OF-THEISP-DNS-SERVER-2}

Login as the root, enter:

vi /etc/resolv.conf

sudo vi /etc/resolv.conf

Modify or enter nameserver as follows (for exmaple OpenDns) :

sudo systemctl restart network.service
