Where is mysql jdbc driver on fedora

asked 2011-11-12 16:31:46 -0500

Hi. We use windows at the university, and we import the mysql driver from "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver".

In my personal computer I've installed the package "mysql-connector-java.x86_64", but I get a ClassNotFoundException exception. What is the path to the driver?

Easy answer. All java JARs goes to /usr/share/java. Check it out with the rpm command:

$ rpm -ql mysql-connector-java

You will see where it is. Drop the JAR or JARs to your CLASSPATH and you are done. Good luck.

It really depends on the program you are running. Each software has its own way of CLASSPATH configuration. What is it?
