I use Fedora 23+KVM+virt-manager with the latest updates.

I configured and installed a Windows-VM KVM successfully with virt-manager.

Now i tried to install CentOS7 and Ubuntu 14.04. If i start the VM i still get no picture, it doesn't matter what video(QXA, VGA VMVGA,...) and display (spice or vnc) settings i use.

If i use spice-display and start the VM i get black sreen and nothing else.

If i use VNC-display and start the VM a text appears on screen: "Guest has not initialized display (yet)."

I've seen this happen, though less frequently with recent releases. It can happen when the spice/vnc console is already attached to a different remote viewer, or when the system thinks it is. Restarting the libvirtd service might help, or restarting the guest itself.

@randomuser restarting libvirtd service doesn't help

After a great tip i solve the issue:

Open Terminal and connect to VM with virsh ( edit <vm name=""> ). change the following line:

<os>
  <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-i440fx-2.4'>hvm</type>
</os>

to

<os>
  <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-i440fx-2.3'>hvm</type>
</os>

exit virsh and restart libvirtd service:

systemctl restart libvirtd.service
